How Can You Help Puerto Rico?

You may be able to help in more ways than you realize.

Mano Extendida PR is a nonprofit being built around a simple belief: families should not have to leave Puerto Rico to survive.

Our vision is to help people Stay • Build • Thrive by creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, economic development, mentorship, and holistic mission throughout Puerto Rico.

But getting this work off the ground will take a community.

When people hear about the vision, one of the questions we hear most often is:

“How can I help?”

The answer is bigger than making a donation. You may have relationships, influence, experience, skills, resources, or connections that could help open doors we could never open on our own.

Below are some of the many ways you can help strengthen families, entrepreneurs, and communities across Puerto Rico.

Pray for Us

Everything we are building begins with prayer.

Pray for wisdom as we make decisions, provision for the work ahead, favor with potential partners, the right people to join the mission, and doors to open throughout Puerto Rico.

Most importantly, pray for the entrepreneurs, families, and communities we hope to serve.

Will you commit to praying for Mano Extendida PR?

Become a Founding Monthly Partner

Consistent monthly support gives us the ability to build with confidence and prepare for the work ahead.

Whether you give $25, $50, $100, $250, or more each month, your partnership helps provide the foundation needed to develop programs, build partnerships, establish the necessary infrastructure, and prepare for launch.

You don't have to fund the entire vision.

You can simply help us build it, one month at a time.

Double your donation through your employer.

Host a Gathering

Sometimes the best way to introduce people to a mission is simply to get them around a table.

Would you invite a group of friends, family members, church members, business leaders, coworkers, or other people in your network to hear about Mano Extendida PR?

You can host the gathering in your home, office, church, business, or another comfortable setting. If you're able, we also ask hosts to sponsor simple refreshments—hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, snacks, coffee, water, or other drinks—for their guests.

We'll come prepared to share the story, present the vision, answer questions, and explain how people can become involved.

You bring the people and create the welcoming environment. We bring the presentation.

Open a Door

You may know someone we don't.

Do you have a relationship with a church, business, company, ministry, association, foundation, civic organization, professional network, small group, or other organization that might allow us to present Mano Extendida PR?

Make the introduction and help us get in the room.

We'll take it from there—sharing our presentation, telling the story, explaining the vision, and inviting people to become part of what we're building.

Sometimes one introduction can open a door that changes everything.

Introduce Us to Someone We Should Know

Think about the people in your life and network.

Who are three people you believe we should meet?

Maybe it's a business owner. A pastor. A generous individual. A community leader. A corporate executive. A philanthropist. Someone connected to Puerto Rico. Or simply someone who knows a lot of people and loves bringing good people together.

You don't have to know whether they'll give.

Just make the introduction.

Start a Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Campaign

You have something incredibly valuable: your influence.

You may have friends, family members, coworkers, church relationships, customers, professional contacts, or people who follow you online who would care about this mission if they heard about it from you.

Start your own fundraising campaign and invite your network to participate.

Share your personal fundraising link through Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, email, text messages, or wherever you connect with people. Tell them why you believe in Mano Extendida PR and invite them to join you.

You use your voice and influence. We provide the campaign and tools. Together, we expand the reach of the mission.

Use Your Skills & Expertise

You don't have to write a check to make a significant contribution.

What do you know how to do?

We need people with experience in areas such as business, accounting, law, construction, technology, marketing, fundraising, grant writing, photography, video production, graphic design, social media, education, coaching, and more.

Your professional expertise could help us accomplish something we would otherwise have to pay someone to do.

Bring what you know to the mission.

Mentor or Teach an Entrepreneur

If you've built a business, developed a career, learned a trade, led people, or overcome the challenges of entrepreneurship, your experience has value.

We envision Christian entrepreneurs, business leaders, executives, professionals, and skilled tradespeople investing directly in emerging entrepreneurs in Puerto Rico.

That might mean mentoring someone building a similar business, teaching a class, leading a workshop, sharing lessons you've learned, or eventually participating in a business-focused mission experience.

We want to bring more than information.

We want to bring people willing to walk alongside people.

Connect Us With a Business or Company

Businesses can become powerful partners in this work.

Perhaps your employer, company, or a business owner you know could participate through corporate giving, sponsorships, matching gifts, employee giving, volunteer teams, donated professional services, or in-kind resources.

You don't have to make the pitch.

Help us begin the conversation.

Help Us Find Resources

Not everything we need has to be purchased.

Someone in our extended network may already have access to the very thing we need.

That could include technology, equipment, office furniture, printing, meeting or event space, professional services, construction materials, transportation, food for events, or other goods and services.

Before we spend a dollar, we'd love to discover what God may have already placed within the people around us.

Connect Us With Foundations & Funders

Relationships matter in philanthropy.

If you know someone connected to a private foundation, family foundation, donor-advised fund, corporate foundation, grantmaking organization, or other philanthropic network, an introduction could be incredibly valuable.

You don't need to know whether they will fund us.

Simply help us start the relationship.

Connect Us in Puerto Rico

Building this well means listening to and partnering with people already serving Puerto Rico.

If you have relationships on the island, we would love introductions to entrepreneurs, business leaders, pastors, churches, universities, municipalities, nonprofits, community organizations, educators, economic-development leaders, and others who care about strengthening Puerto Rico's communities.

Help us build the right relationships before we build the programs.

Support & Share Our Merchandise

Wear the mission and help tell the story.

Purchasing Mano Extendida PR merchandise provides another way to support the organization while introducing other people to the message behind:

Stay • Build • Thrive.

When someone asks what it means, tell them.

Maybe You See Something We Don't

This list isn't exhaustive.

You may have an idea, relationship, resource, opportunity, or ability that we haven't even thought to ask about.

So we're asking you:

Who do you know?

What do you know?

What resources can you access?

What door could you open?

Who could you introduce us to?

What influence could you use?

What are you willing to do?

You may be holding a piece of the puzzle that helps Mano Extendida PR get off the ground.

So, how can you help?

Tell us. Check every area where you might be willing to get involved, and we'll follow up with you.

Families should not have to leave Puerto Rico to survive.

Stay • Build • Thrive.
